“God is still speaking….” **** means God is not dead. God is alive. **** means God is not done speaking. God has not wrapped up what we need to hear in one place or one book. We are a people of the Word, not just the Book. The Word is on-going and alive. **** means God is speaking, if we listen. We can ignore, we can be deaf. But the speaking continues whether we listen or not. If we have not been listening, we can start. If we want to converse, we will be heard. And if we have been listening, we know that the message is both simple and complex, loving and tough, divine and human. **** means that God is still speaking to me even if I feel unworthy or unbelieving, even if I feel humankind has done terrible things ****means we do not know who or what God is, but we know that God relates to us, and we can find direction, wonder, connection, conversation, and company on life’s path with God. **** means there is one God, and if someone says there are more, I feel they are the same. **** does not mean God is speaking just to me or my church, that God speaks English, or even in a language that is named, or even that God is like a human with human attributes, because I feel God is much more than I imagine, and yet is still speaking to us........
