Adult and Kids choir

Adult Choir has about a dozen regulars and a handful of occasional singers.  Visitors are welcome, and we usually swell our number for Christmas and Easter.  Our Gospel concert recording is available on request.  Each May we do an "Anthem Sunday" of with a half dozen of so favorite anthems for Sunday Worship.  The repetoire includes classical and modern sacred music, and gospel.
Betsy Livingston directs the adult choir, which is open to all singers.  Dorothy Peck accompanies us on organ and piano.
The Kids Choir does not have a regular schedule at present, and depends on the interest and needs of the kids and the congregation.

At Bob Tracy's 80th birthday, his daughter Rev Denise Tracy presented a program on the theology of Beatles songs. Here's Bob with Denise  and daughter Roberta and her partner Dan Boomhower who played piano,  and Denise's son Kyle with honey bee cake. Jan 28, 2007

Sixth Day- People

Six Days of Creation
These six windows (54 panels) were done in 2005 to cover the part of windows covered on the outside by shutters. Light, Animals, and Plants  were jointly painted by Sunday School students, the People window was collaged from hands invited from anyone in the congregation, Water and Heavens were painted by Rick Rayfield who conceived the idea in 1987 and painted the first panel for his daughter's baptism. The 2004-2005 Sunday School theme was stories of the Bible. The Creation story was the perfect occasion to recruit the Sunday School to execute this project. The panels are foamcore, and are attached to the windows with Velcro. Future panels and paints will be waterproof. We learn as we go. The panels depicting the creation story (well, one of the creation stories in Genesis) covered the unsightly dark windows, provided some insulation, brightened the sanctuary, and taken some of the emphasis off the eye-grabbing  Warner Sallman pictures of "Jesus" behind the pulpit and organ. They are easily removed, and were replaced with plain white panels for Christmas decor in 2006.  They reminded us, as we worshiped, of the connection each of us has to all the wonder in God's work, and our simple but sacred understanding of it.

The Creation panels are in storage, and undergoing some conservation from water damage.  The current white panels are PVC foam with a surface ready for the next artistic venture.
